About the Award

Established in 2017, the National Design Award is Latvia’s highest recognition in the field of design. It honours excellence in five categories: product design, service design, communication design, digital solutions, and environmental design, and is guided by the principles of the New European Bauhaus: beauty, sustainability, and inclusion.

This year, the Moon Chair was named a finalist on 3 June among many outstanding submissions. The following day, our team presented it to the international jury – André Poulheim (Germany), Maarja Mäemets (Estonia), Julius Seniūnas (Lithuania), Maija Rozenfelde (Latvia), Reinis Leo Miķelsons (Latvia), and Baiba Lindāne (Latvia) – respected voices in product design, architecture, and design curation. On 5 June, at the awards ceremony, the Moon Chair was officially announced as the winner in the Product Design category.

The event took place in a concert venue in the quiet centre of Riga, bringing together all the finalists, jury members, and people from across the Latvian design world. In the photos below, you’ll see our product designer Mark Litvyakov, the creative mind behind the Moon Chair, along with members of our marketing and sales team who joined to celebrate this milestone.

This is how the jury captured the essence of the Moon Chair:

“This year's winner in the product design category impressed the jury with its bold yet elegant approach. This affordable product exceeded expectations with its minimalist, clean design, modular concept, playful spirit, and long-lasting materials. The Moon Chair fosters creativity and independence in children while bringing calm to an often overstimulating environment. It fits not only in a child’s room but also in any modern living space. Children deserve great design because they are our future.”

We are deeply grateful to the international jury for recognising the importance of thoughtfully designed, long-lasting products for children. This award reaffirms our mission to create beautiful, functional, and timeless pieces that support families, spark creativity, and shape the spaces in which children grow and thrive.
