From teepee to teen room: how the collection began
The idea for a Teen Collection didn't originate in a boardroom with market analysis and trends in mind — like most good Wigiwama ideas, it started at home. When Anastasia founded Wigiwama in 2016, it all began with a simple idea: designing a teepee for her one-year-old daughter, Sasha. Fast forward ten years, and Sasha is now eleven: tall enough to have opinions, and well past the furniture that started it all. She was ready for a different kind of space — one that felt like her own.
"When children grow, their needs change – but the desire for comfort stays," says Anastasia. "Teenagers still want somewhere to curl up after a busy day, to relax, think, listen to music, study, or simply be themselves. I wanted to create a collection that feels like the next step: something softer and more grown-up, but with that same feeling of being held."
