Wigiwama's Moon Chair Wins Gold at the Junior Design Awards 2024

Now in its 13th year, the JDA aims to be a source of luxury inspiration for families by celebrating brands that produce goods for children with exceptional design, thus helping cultivate good taste from an early age. Winners in each category are selected by an international panel of industry experts, including interior designers, style experts, parenting journalists, authors and more. To be recognized among so many talented brands is both an honour and a testament to our commitment to quality, original, timeless design and creation of products that resonate with families around the world.

"The Moon Chair stole the show for me. One of my favorite items this year. I mean, it’s just a beautiful statement piece of furniture, isn’t it? The texture is a dream; it’s aesthetically pleasing but also fun, practical, and comfortable for kids. And don’t worry, the cover is removable and washable!"

This trophy is not our first Junior Design Awards recognition: our Bunny Beanbag won Silver, and our (now discontinued) Teepee Set won Bronze in 2021. This year, we were thrilled to return to the JDA with the Moon Chair, our latest addition to the collection.

This is how the editorial team of Junior Magazine summed up their experience in evaluating the Moon Chair by Wigiwama: “There wasn’t a judge in the JDA house who didn’t want their moment reclining on the Moon Chair. Designed for children (and big kids), our panel loved the soft tactile bouclé finish and the easy to adjust modules that are lightweight enough for a child to move into different configurations and robust enough to provide comfortable and supportive seating to snuggle in. Perfect for a playroom or any room in the house that needs a playful touch”.

"Really innovative to deconstruct this lovely chair so that it offers more imaginitive fun for the child."

- Jennifer Cattaui, Founder of Babest, New York

"A real centrepiece for the home and children’s play. The perfect mix of design and
entertainment."

- Bonita Turner, Editor of Junior Magazine

"This modular chair encourages making camps and using the imagination in the most chic way
possible."

- Eleonore Crompton, Deputy Editor of Junior Magazine

We thank the organisers and judges of the Junior Design Awards for their thoughtful curation and dedication to fostering a strong community of design-driven brands. The award is also a tribute to the hard work and creative vision of our team, and it inspires us to continue empowering families to build homes where children can grow with confidence, cultivating good taste from an early age, and raising a generation that values aesthetics and the joy of thoughtful living.

With Love,

Wigiwama
