Wigiwama Joins Erwin Wurm Exhibition at Zuzeum Art Centre

This summer, Wigiwama takes its place within a contemporary art setting, joining "How It Is" – a major solo exhibition by Austrian sculptor Erwin Wurm at Zuzeum Art Centre in Riga. With an ongoing presence at Copenhagen Contemporary, Wigiwama continues its dialogue with the art world by shaping spaces that welcome all ages through thoughtful design.

Erwin Wurm’s Playful Take on Everyday Objects

Wurm is known for turning everyday objects into playful sculptures – from swollen cars to bags on legs. Many of the works are interactive, encouraging visitors to look, move and think differently. It’s a bold and humorous exhibition, and one Wigiwama is proud to support.

“In this show, the interactivity of the kids' zone was very important for us. We wanted to make the museum experience more welcoming, and that is when we found Wigiwama. It was the first brand we thought of. It really fits the exhibition space, museum space, and goes really well with the design.”

So what is Wigiwama doing there?

As part of "How It Is", Wigiwama has helped create a special corner for Zuzeum’s youngest guests. Tucked into both the exhibition hall and the lounge, the space is designed for families to sit down, relax and draw together. But it is more than just a place to pause – it is an intentional design intervention, aligned with the aesthetics and values of the exhibition itself.

A Space to Pause, Play and Experience Art Together

The collaboration includes a selection of Wigiwama products – Play Sofa, Cushions, Beanbags, Playsets – placed to match the mood of the exhibition and the visual language of Zuzeum itself, a space that already feels like a work of art. Because Wigiwama isn’t just about comfort, it’s about design that feels good and fits in, no matter your age.

The exhibition "How It Is" runs until 14 September 2025 at Zuzeum Art Centre. Whether you come for the sculptures or to simply sit down and draw, there is a place here for everyone.
