Fun On-The-Go Games

Logical Pairs (3-4y)

You say an adjective and the child has to find a noun that logically goes with that quality. For example, you say "yellow" and the child might say "lemon", or you say "fast" and the child continues by saying "car".

Categories (3-4y)

Choose a theme (animals, plants, vehicles) and take turns saying words from that category. The game continues until someone can't think of a word or repeats one that's already been said!

Rhyming (5-6y)

You say any word and the child has to find a rhyme for it. For example: cat - hat, ball - tall, ring - king. More advanced players can even make up a simple rhyme based on these rhyming words!

Odd One Out (5-6y)

Name four items (three related and one not) and ask your child to pick the odd one out. For example: "cow, wolf, goat, sheep” where the wolf is the odd one out because it lives in the forest.

Yes or No riddles (7-8y)

Think of an object and let your child guess by asking yes or no questions. For example, they might ask, "Is it an animal? Is it small? Is it wild?" until they guess correctly.

Water, Earth, Air (7-8y)

Say one of these words and ask your child to name an animal that lives in that environment. For example, "water" could be "fish", "air" could be "crow" and "earth" could be "lion".
